301 STAINLESS STEEL
Type 301 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that provides high strength and good ductility when cold worked. It is a modification of Type 304 in which the chromium and nickel contents are lowered to increase the cold work-hardening range. This permits higher tensile strengths to be achieved by rolling with a lower loss of ductility than with Type 304. 301 Stainless Steel Sheet & Coil - AMS 5901Mechanical Properties Type 301 is an austenitic stainless steel with a nominal composition of 17 percent chromium and 7 percent nickel, which provides good strength and ductility when cold worked. It also has excellent corrosion resistance properties. 301 is well suited to welding, forming and drawing.
301-1/2 Hard Tempered Stainless Steel Sheet & Coil - AMS 5518
Mechanical Properties 301-1/2 Hard is an austenitic stainless steel that it has been cold rolled to its 1/2 hard condition. This makes it ideal for applications requiring both formability and tensile strength of 150,000 PSI and yield strength of 110,000 PSI. 301-1/2 Inventory Size Ranges AISI 301 Stainless Steel Properties, Type 301 Full Hard SS 301 steel specifications MachiningAISI 301 stainless steel (UNS S30100) is the most susceptible to cold deformation strengthening among conventional austenitic stainless steels. Its work hardening rate is extremely high, with each increase in the amount of cold work, the tensile strength and yield strength will increase significantly. AISI Type 302 Stainless Steel Properties, SS302 Composition 301 steel specifications MachiningAISI 301 has lower nickel and chromium content, so the work hardening rate is higher than AISI 302. DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE SELECTION AND USE OF STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steels are iron-base alloys containing 10.5% or more chro-mium. They have been used for many industrial, architectural, chemical, and consumer applications for over a half century. Currently there are being marketed a number of stainless steels originally recognized by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) as standard alloys.
